10 Pacific Theaters- Instead of heading down to the local AMC Theater and paying $10 per ticket, go a little out of your way to the Pacific 6 Theater on University Avenue. Student tickets are only $6, and most major films are playing just as often.
Price: Cheap. Can't go wrong with a $6 movie.

9 Ferry Rides- For a romantic evening, drive down to North Harbor Drive and take a ferry over to Coronado Island. It's only $2.25 one-way, and ferries run from 9am to 9:30pm. This way you won't have to worry about horrendous parking in Coronado. Spend the night walking down Orange Street, or sneak into the world famous Hotel Del Coronado and soak up the luxury. And if that fails, there's the beautiful, also world famous, beaches. Grab dinner at a quirky diner (I suggest Night and Day Café) and head back to the city.
Price: Cheap. Walking is free, and if you really want to save money, bring a picnic lunch.

8 Dave-and-Buster's- Bring out the child in you and your date by going to an "Adult" arcade. The restaurant has four or five different entrees on their "Power Combo" menu that are only $15.99 and come with a free $10 arcade card. When you're done eating, challenge your date to a shooting contest. It's the perfect excuse to act like a 10 year-old for the night.
Price: Moderate. The games are addicting, and you'll want to recharge your Powercard.

7 Off-roading- Feeling adventurous? If you've got an off-road capable vehicle, and feel like getting a little dirt on the tires, save a day and go out to Ocotillo Wells (about 20 miles past Julian). Even if you don't have a truck, ATV, or dirt bike, you can rent one off Highway 78 outside the main ranger station. For more information go o www.desertusa.com/ovr/du_owinfo.
Price: Moderate. Gas is the only thing that will cost you if you have the right equipment.

6 Wild Animal Park- There's nothing like spending the day with lions, and tigers, and bears. Although it seems expensive, tickets for the park can be found online for around $18. And if you want to make a weekend out of the animal thing, buy a package deal for the Zoo and Wild Animal Park for even better savings.
