San Diego colleges threatened

A man was arrested in Sacramento on April 7 for violating his probation after being accused of making "threats against an unspecified college campus in San Diego," according to a news release from the UC San Diego campus police.
Thai Tranh Dang was charged in 2007 with possession of an assault weapon, and was released on probation March 26. It was while in custody in Sacramento that Dang allegedly made the threats against the San Diego colleges.
The Sacramento Sheriff's Department notified local college police agencies upon his release and advised them to stay on alert.
In a recent San Diego Union-Tribune, article Lt. Lamine Secka of the San Diego State University campus police stated, "He said something like, 'I might be the next school shooter,' and was specific enough to say San Diego, but not a specific college."
While the threats were vague, the San Diego campus police agencies weren't taking any chances. Bulletins were sent out on April 4 warning college students of Dang and urging campus communities to report any sightings of him.
Updates were posted and forwarded via e-mail on Monday notifying colleges of the suspect's apprehension.
Dang's arrest was due to his failure to report to his probation officer and he is Currently in the custody of the Sacramento Police Department.
