I think it’s great that so much effort has gone into the remodeling of our campus. Mesa was in definite need of a campus make over, especially with such a steady increase in attendance. Although the construction noise can be a little off putting, and the areas under work can be a bit of an eyesore, overall the atmosphere that the newly constructed buildings provide really gives Mesa an edgier feel. I also think that the addition of solar panels during the construction is a fantastic way to help offset the large energy costs our campus amasses. It’s really good to see positive steps towards establishing renewable energy at our school. Now what needs to be focused on is better coordination of the air conditioning with the outside temperature! Too often it seems, as though the only thing chillier than the early morning walk to class are the classrooms that seems to have the A/C blasting all night. Typically it doesn’t seem to be a problem later in the day, but I’ve definitely noticed it and have heard many other people complain of the same issue in their earlier classes. If there was a better means of regulating the temperature overnight it seems as though the campus could conserve even more energy and resources.

This is being written in frustration of the numerous amount of people that ask every student to sign forms each day they walk by. The people are in the same spot everyday and ask the same people each time. They could at least remember if a student said the day before that they are not San Diego residences. It also does not seem like it is the correct atmosphere to be promoting legalization of marijuana. i rarely see any students signing any forms and i see students more often try to walk around or ignore the people asking them the same questions everyday. Another typical thing i see students do is pull out there phones and look down so they do not have to make eye contact with the people asking questions. I come to class to learn and i do not come to be drilled with questions each day. It is hard enough to get to class on time with the parking struggles and then to be drilled with questions by 5 people on the way to class is the last thing students want.
I do understand that the state funds the school and they have the right to do that but i believe a lot of students would appreciate not being asked questions all the time when they are just trying to go study in the library or when they are in a rush to get to class.
