Women’s volleyball fights for PCC title

With only two games remaining, Mesa Women’s Volleyball team will battle for the Pacific Coast Conference title once again with neighboring rival Palomar College. As of Nov. 5, the two teams are tied for first place in the PCC with records of 8-1, with their only losses against each other.
There are a few opportunities left for a stand alone first place finish, but if Palomar and Mesa continue on their current paths, a tie will most likely ensue.
In the event of a tie at the end of the season both teams will be admitted to the regional state playoffs with lower seeds in the competition then an outright first place finish. Sophomore setter Amber Davidson is adamant on what is needed for a strong finish.
“We are on a roller coaster right now, so we are just really focusing on winning the rest of our games,” she said.
With conference play coming to an end on Nov. 12 at San Diego City College, the ladies are hard at work preparing for the remainder of the regular season.
