October Fun

The weekend for late night fun and games is here! Don’t have any plans? Check out all the fun October events near you. Universal studios is having their annual Halloween Horror Nights in Universal City, CA. This years event includes seven new mazes that will have you on your feet running all night. These mazes include American Horror Story, The Exorcist, Krampus, Freddy vs. Jason, The Purge, and so much more! This annual event is very popular almost every Saturday in October 2016 and has sold out for this thriller night. Ticket prices range from $89 – $129.

Don’t feel like driving to L.A.? San Diego also has over 30 event you can attend before Halloween. The Scream Zone is one of the main local must attend events located at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. From haunted hayrides to house of horror you’re guaranteed to have a scary good time. The Scream Zone also has a new Zombie Boot Camp attraction where you can learn how to survive a zombie apocalypse. Ticket prices range from $10 – $33.

The Haunted Hotel is another spooky event located Downtown San Diego. Reigning as one of the top 13 haunted houses in America you won’t be disappointed. From a “Hellevator” to walking through a twisted torture temple you will be running all night once you step into this dark creepy clown hotel with zombies and life like dolls. Tickets are only $19.

Your Halloween gets even better with Balboa Parks Haunted Trail. This lovely mile long walk in the dark with your friends and family will be a night you’ll never forget. From chainsaws to Michael Myers you never know whats behind your back. Your adrenaline will be rushing as you make your way through a huge crowd of people just like you’re coming face to face with infamous killers from American horror films. Ticket prices range from $25 – $40.

Want something a little less horrifying for your young ones? Check out the Halloween puppet show from October 19th to the 23rd at The Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater located in Balboa Park. This is an interactive play where you get to help Tommy the Ghost become a scary ghost for Halloween. Tickets are only $5.

Another great event for the kids is the Brick-Or-Treat Party Nights 2016 at Legoland California. There will be live entertainment and costume contests for three different categories including: group, LEGO theme, and the most creative. There will even be treat stations. With over 1 million pieces of candy to take home your little one will be leaving the park happy. Legoland will also have a pumpkin patch where you can craft your pumpkin with lego friends. This event will be held every Saturday night for the month of October, ticket prices range between $35 – $60.

If you want a more cultural experience this year check out Carrera De Los Muertos (Day Of The Dead Race) on Sunday, October 30 in Chicano Park. The Race Day Registration Opens at 6:45 a.m., and you can also get your bibs and t-shirts. The race starts at 8 a.m. and afterwards at 10 a.m. there will be awards for the runners and the festival begins. There will be music, dance, face painting, and so much more. Ticket prices range from $35 – $50. This is a wonderful celebration full of culture you don’t want to miss.
