Mesa College Theatre Company presents three one-act plays

The Mesa College Theater Company is proud to present its fourth one act play showing on November 16, 17 at 8pm and Sunday Nov. 18 at 7pm. The Mesa College Drama Department will showcase three sensational plays: “Broken Heart”, “Birdbath” and “Naomi in the living room.”

Directed by drama student, Danielle Tisdelle, “Broken Heart” is sure to captivate audiences with an intense storyline…. A young woman, in the midst of having open-heart surgery “sees the light” and faces a decision to stay on earth or go to heaven.

“Birdbath” is an intriguing drama that involves two characters, Frank and Velma confessing their insecurities. Birdbath is full of twists as Velma releases a terrifying secret. Viewers are sure to love this play and its suspense.

“Naomi in the living room” involves a father who turns into a cross dresser. Gradually this man goes from a common father to venture in the cross dressing culture.

The Mesa College Theater Company offers instructions on how to build sets, costumes, lighting, sound and acting. Juan Castro has been the professor at Mesa College for 19 years. The drama department conducts two plays a semester. The plays are randomly chosen published plays usually by Christopher Durang. Many of the students graduate and attend a four- year university.

Admission is $5.00 for students, $8.00 for military and $10.00 for general admission. There will be a concession stand; parking is free, located in the over flow section.
