Quality music is desired
Re: Auto-tuning source of musical downfall, Oct. 25
For every new generation, there is a previous group reminiscing about “the old days,” remembering, “when I was younger,” so on and what-not. It will be true for this generation.
I find comfort in believing — no, knowing — that for every decade before us, people were complaining about the disposable, crappy commercial music of that particular time, just as we are today. The only reason we don’t hear those “throwaway” songs now? They didn’t survive. The same will be true for that type of music today…over time, of course.
Catchy tunes are a dime a dozen these days. Rest easy knowing that there is longevity in quality, not quantity.
All we are…is dust in the wind, dude.

Bookbags in the bookstore
This is my first semester at Mesa College after being away at a university for a year.
What I found astonishing about this school was the fact that students are still required to put all bags and backpacks on a shelf when going into the bookstore. Are we in high school anymore?
I know it is done to reduce the risk of theft, but I really feel it shows the lack of trust that the staff puts in the students.
I find it inconvenient and unnecessary since the school I went to prior had a bookstore with much more merchandise and customers were still able to walk around with their bags.
The bookstore should treat its students as the adults they are and let them carry their bags around.
