Mens Water Polos So Cal Championship run cut short

Mesa Men’s Water Polo (6-2, 20-9) clinched the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title but fell to conference rival Grossmont College (6-3, 18-12) in the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Championships on Veterans Day.

Tanner Miller put up big numbers with 4 goals, 3 assists and 2 steals. Josh Grall and Jonathan Sensenbaugh backed Miller up with 3 goals apiece. Vincent Martel rounded out the attack with 4 assists and 2 goals of his own.

Just 5 days after the Olympians defeated Grossmont in the nail biting 17-16 PCAC title match the squad fell to the same team in a season ending 5-14 performance.

With huge performers like Brenannan Casey, 53 goals, 18 assists and 53 steals; Sensenbaugh, 59 goals, 25 assists, 30 steals and Miller, 51 goals, 25 assists, and 26 steals, returning Mesa looks like a strong 2011 PCAC Championship contender.
