Stephanie is in her third year at Mesa and is pursuing a degree in Journalism. She hopes to one day work for a news medium such as the San Diego Union Tribune or CBS News. When she isn't writing for the Mesa Press or working on her novel, Stephanie teaches Irish Dance in Kensington and San Marcos.

Women college students spend an average of 10 hours a day on their cellphones and men college students spend nearly eight, with excessive use posing potential risks for academic performance, according to a recent Baylor University study on cell phone activity published in the Journal of Behavioral Addictions. The study says about 60 percent of college students admit they may be addicted to their cell phone, and some indicated they get agitated when it is not in sight.   (Thomas R.
