Beyond Two Souls

From the French developers Quantic Dream, the creators of Heavy Rain comes the interactive action fileld game, ‘Beyond Two Souls’.
This game is beyond breathtaking, with the realism and details in the game’s animation. The game even has Ellen Page as the voice actor of the game’s protagonist Jodie Homes. Though IGN and Joystiq both criticized the game for having a plot that was too unfocused and character interation being lacking and bland. On the other hand fellow Youtube gamer’s have quoted the game having “suprisingly smooth controls and beautiful graphics.” The complete opposite of the reviews of IGN and Joystiq.
Purchasing the game and playing though it, i ahve to agree with both sides of the argument, the graphics and controls are extremely smooth and very well done. I did have a problem with character interactions, your choices are limited and some decisions that you believe you can choose from, are not under your power to choose.
The plot is capticating in a sense that it is told in a non linear narrative. Jumpong back and forth in Jodie’s life, for example at one moment you will be playing as her when she was a child and getting abandoned by her parent, and the following scene you will be jumping off a wall in CIA training. Why was Jodie abandoned you ask? The reason being is that Joide has an entity known as “Aiden” connected to her. Aiden can manipulate the surrondings around Jodie, and even control other people’s movements. You the plater travel to these different points in her life, trying to discover who you are, and who “Aiden” really is.
