Last student art exhibition of the year

The Mesa College Art Gallery has opened its doors to the public, exhibiting the marvelous work from up-and-coming artists throughout the Fall 2013 semester. From Nov.21 to Dec. 10, some of the artworks that were chosen by either the instructor or received the highest vote from fellow classmates, are displayed in a variety of mediums.

Hundreds of student art pieces decorate the gallery walls. Oil on canvas, acrylic on paper, charcoal, pencil and oil pastel are some of the supplies the students use to bring their visions to life. Each art piece is delicately created to tell a story and expresses the differentiability of each artist; no two pieces are alike. A small note card also accompanies each work with information about its artist and a description of the piece, giving the observer a better understanding.

The art gallery hosts one student and two non-student shows throughout each semester.

Student, Elizabeth Stringer, pen and ink, watercolor, was selected to be on the print invitation for the San Diego Mesa College Art Exhibition, Fall 2013. The exquisite painting is on sale for $250. The money collected from the sales goes back into the gallery.
