The December Nights at Balboa Park took place on Dec. 5 and 6, drawing large crowds under clear skies. The participants enjoyed this traditional event with a variety of content.

This annual event is hosted by the City of San Diego. In recent years, it has grown into a large-scale event drawing over 300,000 visitors over just two days.
This year too, Balboa Park was filled with people enjoying a lot of content including live music, attractions, and food booths. The main area was decorated with Christmas ornaments and illumination, creating a festive atmosphere.

The biggest eye-catcher was an enormous Christmas tree on the Spreckels Organ Pavilion. Various performers and artists showcased live music and danced on the special stage, energizing the crowd.

This event is also known as a family-friendly festival, and a family zone was set up again this year. One of the main attractions was a photo booth where visitors could take pictures with Santa Claus. Families formed a line, eagerly waiting for their chance to take a memorable photo with him.
“It’s wonderful that we could attend such a large event for free,” one of the attendees said. “My daughter seemed happy to take photos with Santa and seeing her happy made me happy too.”

Now in its 48th year, this event continues to grow in scale and brilliance. The December Nights will surely remain a beloved San Diegan Christmas tradition for years to come.
