San Diego has hosted its big share of popular concerts in the past, but has become a less prominent location for concerts over the years compared to its neighboring concert hotspot in Los Angeles. This year though, a fair amount of big named artists plan to make appearances in San Diego, some for the first time in years.
Gorillaz

For the first time since 2010 during the Escape to Plastic Beach tour, the popular animated band comes back to San Diego in a tour dedicated to their new album “The Mountain”. The band who is popular for its four main fictional members have a unique way of performing live.
In reality the group consists of two main guys: Damon Albarn, former lead-singer of Britpop group Blur, and British comic artist Jamie Hewlett. Their music relies heavily on features and collaborations, so it would be no surprise if another artist makes an appearance with the group this fall in Pechanga Arena.
The album itself “The Mountain” combines a sound familiar with the Gorillaz fan base with classical Indian music, and deals with topics like death and new life, both experiences that Albarn and Hewlett have experienced with the passing of close family members.
The tour kicks off on Sept. 17 and will make its way to San Diego on Oct. 25.
Pierce the Veil

The worldwide rock sensation will make their way back to their hometown and will be the second ever band of San Diego natives to headline a show at Petco Park, arguably the most honored venue for a band to host in San Diego. The only other band to accomplish this was Blink-182, who just recently played there in 2024.
This marks a historical achievement for the band who first got started at the much smaller (yet just as iconic) SOMA concert hall in San Diego.
The band will close off their I Can’t Hear You tour with their homecoming show on Sept.12, an event that the band considers “monumental” and something “nearly two decades in the making”.
J. Cole

World-famous rapper J. Cole has done everything but fall off, especially with his The Fall Off Tour making its way to Viejas Arena in San Diego. This marks the second time J. Cole has come to San Diego (his first time also being in the same arena).
The hip-hop artist released his seventh studio album back in February after much anticipation from fans. It was heavily marketed to be his final album which only made demand for a tour that much greater. The 24 track project is the culmination of a well renowned career, and a final send off to the hip hop community.
With what could be his final tour as well, the venue is expected to be packed by loyal fans and rap enthusiasts alike on Sept.9.
Pink

Pink will have the honor to headline the Curebound Concert for Cures at Petco Park this spring, which will mark a significant point of her already accomplished career.
The one night event will feature the highflying pop star in support of cancer research with the Curebound organization, a San Diego tradition that has been hosted by other artists like Elton John, Alicia Keys, and Ed Sheeran.
The non-profit itself, Curebound, pushes hard for lifesaving cancer research and was established back in 2021, and has already left its mark by raising over $20 million with their concerts alone.
Pink will perform her greatest hits for an inspiring cause on May 15, where all earnings will go into cancer research.
Guns N’ Roses

Like any iconic rock band from the 1980s, Guns N’ Roses refuses to slow down and will continue touring in 2026, including a stop in San Diego’s own Snapdragon Stadium. The tour is mostly in support of their two new singles “Atlas” and “Nothin”, and the sheer refusal to retire.
The band took a long break between 1996 and 2016, where they started touring again and shook off some very notable rust. San Diego fans will be most pleased to see them return to form regardless of age in a hit packed show.
The now recently Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees, The Black Crowes, will be opening for Guns N’ Roses on Sept. 2 and will be sure to please old and new fans of one of the most successful rock bands of all time.
Rufus Du Sol

San Diego has always embraced the EDM music genre, but now more than ever with Rufus Du Sol planning to make an appearance at Petco Park. They will be the first EDM act to headline the stadium on their own.
This will be the music group’s biggest show in San Diego yet, topping their previous performance at Pechanga Arena in 2018, rightfully so now that they are more popular and in high demand by fans.
The Australian indie dance group plans to turn up at the Petco Park this Aug. 15 for the first time, and will be yet another band to play at the iconic concert spot.
Multiple other bands and artists such as Sublime, My Chemical Romance, Three Sacred Souls and more will make appearances in San Diego and even more are yet to be announced for the year. 2026 is set to be a big year for music enthusiasts in San Diego, with a wide variety of live shows at their disposal.
