At the bottom of the stairs by lot one, sits a small building with the words “Art Gallery” painted on it in yellow. An underappreciated part of campus, the art gallery holds various pieces of artwork, with students and professional artists’ works being displayed for all.
Various sections of the gallery hold unique forms of art, from paintings to architecture and clothes. The color palettes also change throughout the path, with different forms of colors like black and gray as well as gold and silver items. These creations form different objects representing the artist’s perspectives on unique parts of life.
One example of these works that are featured is called “Cimbrar la Memoria” or “Shaking Memories”. The artist Monica Arreola designed the piece using only wood and copper tubing. At the end of wires they bend slightly resembling altering memories.
Other artwork in the gallery includes another Arreola piece called “Conjunto Pera de la Jene Bodegones” or “Grouping Pair”. It involves a cluster of random objects to form a fruit bowl. A lot of the items included in this piece seem to be recyclable. Possibly hinting at the affairs of trash harming the world. Another suggestion is the artist is implying how an individual may see trash while another spots beauty.
Individuals tend to overlook the Art Gallery, as it’s hidden under many classrooms and instruction areas. The facility inside is also very welcoming to guests allowing for pictures and overall free range to roam anything any individual would want too.
