Sound Tribe Sector 9 Provides Night to Remember

Sound Tribe Sector 9 Provides Night to Remember

Sound Tribe Sector Nine (STS9) had an amazing performance at the House of Blues Friday Feb. 16. The whole audience danced the night away as the bright colors displayed from the lights, bounced around the room.

They started the first set with “Jebez” and ended the second set with “Open E.” They had a killer encore with the song “Inspire Strikes Back.” The set list was unbelievable for those who aren’t familiar with their music. I didn’t want the concert to end. STS9 always leave you wanting more.

I have seen STS9 over 20 times and I have ceased to be amazed at every show.

One interesting thing they have on stage with them, while playing, is people painting on canvases. And at one Halloween show I saw they had people throwing fire on stage behind them, just amazing.

STS9 is a 5-piece electronic jam band from Santa Cruz. Their two newest CD’s are called 1320 Mix Tape and Artifact. They also have Seasons 01 and Live at Home, which are also two great albums.

The band does a lot for the community. They always encourage food donations at the door of their shows. For their winter and spring tour 2007, if you bring 10 non-perishable food items you get a free STS9 poster.

They have also held a benefit for Mariposa’s Art, which is an organization that brings after school art and music programs to At Risk Youth’s in Santa Cruz and Santa Clara. On top of this they have had many other benefits for various charities and organizations.

If there are two things STS9 loves it is art and music. Thanks for spreading the love to us STS9. Peace.
