Mesa Press Social Media Editor Yui Matsuwaki and Feature Editor Mauricio Moreno discuss mental health from different generational perspectives for Mental Health Awareness Month.

Yui Matsuwaki is a student majoring in journalism at San Diego Mesa College. Originally from Yokohama, Japan, she has lived in San Diego since 2022. This is her second opportunity to be a college student. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, creating and listening music, and discovering great local coffee shops. As a mother of one child, she values parenting and time with her family.
Mauricio Moreno is a first year student of San Diego Mesa College, and plans to attend San Diego State University. He plans to major in Journalism and get his degree, meanwhile continuing his ongoing music work. He was born in La Jolla, but raised in Mexicali, Baja California, which brought a lot of diversity to his character. A jack of all trades, Moreno plans to continue doing what he loves most: Hitting the gym, watching sports, movies, meeting new people, listening and writing to music, and writing good stories.
