Students experience rush of Club Rush

Students experience rush of Club Rush

Club Rush begins on February 7th – 10th from 8am-2pm and is a perfect opportunity for students interested in joining or learning more about the various clubs available on campus. Club representatives will be posted in the quad area, in front of the cafeteria.

There are many different types of clubs to accommodate any student’s interest, such as Asian Club, Fencing Club, Honors Club, International Culture Club, and PSI Beta, just to name a few. Each will be participating in Club Rush and are willing to provide any information necessary about what the club is about, how to join, etc.

Kevin Michaels, Executive Vice President of the ICC (Inter Club Council), greatly recommends attending Club Rush, as clubs promotes activeness, leadership, and experience unlike any other. “This is what college is about,” Michaels said.

Students can gain leadership skills and experience from being a part of a club, which is useful when transferring to other colleges or even applying to certain occupations. Michael’s explains, “These are the things you want on your resume, things you want on your transcript.” “These are the things colleges look for and will help you stand out.” This is helpful for any student looking to transfer to other colleges, such as SDSU or UCSD, since it has become difficult to get into these colleges and will be more difficult as time pass.

“The most important apart of clubs is being active, being out there,” said Michaels. Being a member of a club will help students create a life-long bond among other members as well as members of other clubs, creating a social web, which can be beneficial for future endeavors.
