Writing contest calls for Mesa’s elite scribes

The San Diego Mesa College’s English Department has organized its yearly Mesa Creative Writing Contest, to allow students to showcase their ingenuity, as well as the opportunity to be published in Mesa Visions
Art and Literary Magazine 2012.

Prizes include:
• First place $100, second place $75, third place $50, Honorable mention $25
• Recognition of honor at an awards ceremony
• Free copy of the magazine containing participant’s published work

Participants must obey the following criteria:
• Be a Mesa College student
• Submit no more than one piece of fiction, one piece of non-fiction, and three poems
• Fiction and non-fiction pieces may not be more than 1500 words
• Poems may not be more than 50 lines
• Pieces must be double spaced and free of any name or other identifying information of the
participant
• Documents must be saved in .doc/.docx format
• Go to http://goo.gl/w2dyB and fill out submission form

Submissions must be sent to mesavisions@gmail.com by Friday, May 25.
