Gay to str8 therapy banned for minors

Gov. Jerry Brown has signed a bill, effective Jan. 1, banning the use of “medical” therapies in California to “cure” minors with homosexual thoughts and/or desires, taking a step forward in rectifying the arrogant narrow-mindedness of those who believe that it’s wrong to be gay.

These therapies weren’t based on any scientific research and are operated by physicians wanting to change the desires of same sex attraction within kids.

It is absurd that this profession even exist. To make a living this way is nothing more than sheer corruption; benefiting from polluting the youth with the rash connotations of being gay with immorality.

If the situation was reversed with kids and teens being put into therapy in order to “cure” them from being straight and convert them to being gay, there would be heavy oppositions and protests to this practice and to the implication that being gay is the only to live morally.

So why is the inverse acceptable? It shouldn’t be, nor should the reverse be either.

There is no justification in trying to convince anyone including minors of what sexual orientation is correct or not. Minors are highly susceptible and shouldn’t be burdened by the imposition of their parents or anyone else. Subjecting kids and teens to these therapies can have severe repercussions, such as confusion, alienation, depression, and in extreme cases, suicide. Would you be able to paraphrase and add a kid or teen suicide caused by something like this?

Kids should be able to freely express themselves, and as they mature, be able to determine which sexual orientation completes them. By restraining them or forcing them to feel otherwise is downright inhumane and un-American.

No one should be stereotyped as gay or straight. The fixation on a person’s sexual preference is insignificant. People can’t change the way they feel or what sex they’re attracted too. These are innate characteristics that cannot be altered.

Being gay is not a disease that can be simply “cured.” It is not a way of life. Being gay is a part of who a person is, not something you can choose or become. As with being straight, being gay should not define a person either.

People are so much more than their sexual orientation. Their character should be what defines them. That should be the determinant of whether a person is good or bad, moral or immoral. To hate bash on someone just because that person is gay is ignorant and shouldn’t be tolerated any longer.
