An Evening of One-Acts

From November 13 through 15 the San Diego Mesa College Theatre Company will be presenting three evenings of four one-act plays. All productions are student acted, designed, built, crewed and student directed.

“The Man Who Couldn’t Dance”
Written by Jason Katims
Directed by Joseph Bekkedahl
When Eric seeks Gail out after years of separation and the end of their relationship he realizes how much he gave up through leaving her.

“Loyalties”
Written by Murphy Guyer
Directed by David Macdonald Jr.
In this play we learn the importance of having faith in oneself in contrast to blind faith in or devotion to one’s country.

“Scooter Thomas Makes It to the Top of the World”
Written by Peter Parnell
Directed by Amy Peters
What does the death of a friend mean? When a visit from his deceased friend (Scooter) stops Dennis in his tracks he is forced to face the truth of his own existence.

“The Problem”
Written by A.R. Gurney, Jr.
Directed by Mariana Leon
What does truth in a relationship mean? For a married mathematics professor and his wife it lies in a phantasm.
